Olympic day at Banská Bystrica

The Olympic Club Banská Bystrica and Banská Bystrica Self-Governing Region in cooperation with the City of Banská Bystrica, Sports Grammar School and Dukla Military Sports Center Banská Bystrica, SNP Museum, Slovak Indoor Rowing Association, Leasure Center Pohoda and Junior organized sports event "Olympic Day" on Thursday in the park under the SNP Memorial.

Pupils of kindergartens, primary and secondary schools in Banská Bystrica could have a taste of some Olympic sports as well as many games and entertainment activities during a sunny day. Juraj Tužinský, the bronze medal winning shooter from the European Games in Baku and a cross-country skier Alena Procházková, attended the autograph session.

Among the students came also hockey players HC 05 iClinic Banská Bystrica, judoists, fencers and other athletes. The program included an Olympic Day run, Olympic sports demonstrations, an athletic kindergarten, indoor rowing on black models of Concept2 rowing machines, climbing, jumping and taping.

For the youngest, there was a bouncy castle, face painting and a lot of fun activities, including a demonstration of the work of falconers. The refreshment was provided by McDonald's. Before the summer holidays it was a useful variegation of the last school days and at the same time a good motivation for doing sports.
